Denture Relines:

Denture Relines are useful when you are happy with the appearance of your dentures but they have become loose.

Denture Relines is the addition of material to the fitting-surface to make it fit better, this process is used when dentures have become loose and is usually only applicable to full dentures where no natural teeth are remaining.

At Langtons Denture Clinic we offer a 48-hour turn around for this service. An appointment is organised for early in the morning and then we take your denture and add material to the fitting surface, then the denture is returned the following day.

A reline of your denture corrects the shape of your denture and your mouth, producing a closer and tighter fit. Relining enables better retention for the denture, making it more secure in your mouth. This means that eating and speaking can be enhanced, dentures are less likely to harbour trapped food and bacteria and are less likely to fracture.

Hard Reline:

This process involves renewing the surface of the denture that fits against your gums with acrylic material. This corrects the mismatch between the shape of your mouth and the shape of your denture.

Soft Reline:

This process involves renewing the surface of the denture that fits against your gums with a semi-permanent, soft relining material made of silicone. It is attached by a chemical bond to the hard acrylic of your denture. A soft lining is often used on uncomfortable lower dentures, it provides greater protection and comfort for patients that have sensitive tissue, it acts as a cushion effect between your gums and denture.
