Immediate Denture:

This type of denture is made to replace teeth that are going to be extracted. This procedure is done mainly for teeth in visible areas, so that there are no visible gaps after an extraction. The denture is made before the teeth are extracted. When the teeth are extracted the denture is fitted at the same time.

This type of denture is generally short term as the gums tend to resorb after an extraction and the denture becomes loose. It can take up to six months for the soft tissues of the mouth to heal properly.

However, adjustments can be made to the denture to make it more secure, or a new more permanent denture can be made after a couple of months.
